You can ask for extended leave in the guard? That is something that I have never heard of, since you are only there 1 weekend a month. What are you taking leave from?

Fleet,

Since I'm not the only one who does not believe that he served admiraly (sp) and you have yet to answer ANY of my questions or even provide a reasonable defense for his service record, I have no reason to change my stance on the subject

The facts about the president's service.

He "remembers seeing him at the base"...LOL

He did? What year(s) did he do that? And what "service" did he provide to make up for missed drills? Did he help underprivileged children? Did he help prepare meals at a homeless shelter?

Base? So he remembers him from an Air Force BASE? and not from an Army POST?

Army Post
Air Force Base
Naval Base

get the gist?

It was difficult to get into the National Guard but to transfer to another base was impossible for most; you would have to prove a family hardship. I know Vietnam Veterans that came back to finish their active duty that could not get reassigned to a base of their choice even with a family hardship. But here we have Bush being transferred to a base of his choice in Alabama that would cause him to lose his flight status (even if he did report). All this after failing to report for physicals and duty? So we are to believe that the military saw fit to blow off a million dollars in training for no good reason?

Also the ground rules at the time for early outs were less than 5 months when you returned from Vietnam. Normal military could get a 3 month early out for education or seasonal but Bush was allowed an early out of 8 months even though he was National Guard.

Do you see any pattern of abuse?

Default history section

Bush's military service?????????

Doesn't this belong in the history section, certainly not current events?

I was asked to name someone who remembers seeing Bush at the base and I provided an answer.

Don't why all the nitpicking. The fact is that Bush did serve in the National Guard and he did receive an honorable discharge and Clinton was a certified draft dodger. Guess which one I have more respect for?
