"Long road ahead"

Same lousy excuse by someone else to explain away 15 years of misery he and Hoover's intervention caused.

Economy sheds 131,000 jobs in July - Revised Numbers for May/June 97,000 LESS than thought

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is disaster.

Economy sheds 131,000 jobs in July - Yahoo! News

Quote:
Employment fell for a second straight month in July as more temporary census jobs ended while private hiring rose less than expected, pointing to an anemic economic recovery.

Non-farm payrolls fell 131,000, the Labor Department said on Friday as temporary jobs to conduct the decennial census dropped by 143,000. Private employment, considered a better gauge of labor market health, rose 71,000 after increasing 31,000 in June.

There is no confidence to hire. IMO Obama should do less rah rah speeches in front of uniions memebers and get out and talk to owners of businesses and find out what govt restrictions are contributing to their reluctance to hire. I bet the healthcare law is a big part of it. When things are just starting to improve you will be hesitant to hire workers who you'll have to provide insurance for or pay a penalty. Why bother? Just increase productivity of existing staff.

I agree. Unions don't create jobs.

Small business (500 emp and less) are the backbone of America and they are being lumped in with "the rich people" making $250K who should be taxed up the wazoo.

The outlook for small business is dismal and uncertain right now.

Small business's are not being lumped into the rich people category, or the increase tax category.

I don't think HC bill has anything to do with, and I don't think Obama has anything to do with it either. I would say the same if they were hiring like crazy. There is no demand, so they are not hiring. They will hire when they need to hire, not before.
