Ron Paul predicted this crisis we are currently in during the 2008 debates. They can be viewed on youtube.com. He is an honest American who loves this country. The media knows he is influencial and knowledgable so they are trying their best to berate him.

Yes, it matters as a President.............the President chooses who will be on the Supreme Court. If a president chooses an anti-choice judge.........the scales could be tipped and Roe v Wade could be overturned.

Excuse me, as a woman, the right to have control over my own body is an IMPORTANT BASIC ISSUE!

As a woman, the BASIC right to decide whether or not I give birth to a child is THE MOST IMPORTANT POLITICAL ISSUE OUT THERE!

The pro-lifers will NEVER stop trying to have Roe v Wade overturned, therefore I will always vote for a pro-choice President, first and foremost!

annie, thanks for posting. the right of choice is fundamental. I would never give my vote to a candidate who did not support choice

we're a two party country like it or not. in our life times I doubt that will ever change. if you are not part of the establishment you can't get elected. Ron, Ralph, all they can do is rally "their" troops. neither have the numbers for an upset. besides, I doubt there are many dems or repubs that would willingly throw their vote away to vote for a candidate without a shot.
Voting for a candidate you actually believe in is certainly not a throw away vote. I hope voters will base their votes on a candidate's views and ideas, rather than basing it on the D or R next to their name.

OK, I no longer feel bad.

it isn't about a vote for an R or D candidate. it is about voting for someone who you (mostly) believe in, AND has the possibility of winning. voting for someone only because you (mostly) believe in them, if they have no real shot at winning, is a throw away vote. if not throw away then a protest vote against an established front runner. another matter all together if a 3rd party had the numbers behind them. you have to have the machine behind you to win

Views and ideas are rhetoric... what the person HAS done is what best describes the candidate, if they ask for a lot of social programs and have someone else pay for them... they are a socialist whether they call themselves Republicans or Democrats means nothing... You can vote any way you want, it is a free country (at least for now)...

Sure, you don't have to agree with them 100%. But for me personally, I can't ignore the major disagreements I have with both parties, so I don't vote for either of them.

I think that is great. you have to support, for yourself your vote and what is the most important issues for you. if you have major differences with the R & D's you have to vote third party.
for me, like anne posted, I too can not support a candidate who is against a woman's right to choice. "most" everything else important to me is championed by the democratic party. what they don't, I can live without for what they do support.

I think people gravitate to Ron Paul, despite the ongoing media campaign to character assassinate him and recently his son, because he speaks truth to power. I don't agree with everything he says but I do find him to honest, principled, and sincere in defense of the liberties of the American people and American sovereignty. Compared to the rest of the sell-outs in Washington, he could sport a halo.
