Respect for him because he played at Limbaugh's wedding? Why did you not have respect for him prior to that?

As in a right to get married, for example.

It's not that difficult to figure out.

It's a very strange comparison, and that's why it doesn't make sense to me. He's comparing the lack of a same-sex marriage law in California with Arizona's immigration law? Very odd. I don't think any rational person would say that illegal immigrants in Arizona are equivalent to gays living legally in California.

Because people like to generalize. We all do it.

Prior to his performing for Limbaugh, he probably would have seen Elton John as he sees all homosexuals - as undesirables. But now that he's come out against same-sex marriage and associates with Rush Limbaugh, he's an acceptable homo to religious conservatives.

Yes, the Arizona issue is much more of a serious threat to our country and society at this point than gay marriage issue.
That the current administration is not backing Arizona in its attempt to maintain the law is really frightening and speaks volumes regarding Obama and his administration.

He's a succesful entertainer, that happens to be gay, and doesn't subscribe to liberal group think.

Of course the left thinks "something" must be wrong with him.

Really? Interesting point of view of yours.

I am a conservative but have always loved Elton and his music.
I really don't care about his sexual orientation. Furthermore I really don't need to know about it.
I don't know him personally but enjoy his artistic talent. Mostly his old stuff; Tiny Dancer, Levon. The best!

But your broad generalizations regarding conservatives are really interesting and show a lack of knowledge at the least. And you are actually exhibiting the same prejudice against conservatives that you disdain in people who don't agree with homosexuality.

Exactly. And they let it get out of control for a long time. And now they are paying the price. Hopefully our country will learn from them. Or maybe not.

Yeah, that must have been what he was saying. Just brilliant.
