I thought people in "socialists" countries are lazy because socialism makes people not want to work. Weird. How come Germany has survived the crisis better than most other countries?

Well Germany chose to be a capital exporting country while the USA has chose to be a capital importing country. Each country chooses their own path of development. There is no right way or wrong way. Personally I prefer the USA to be a capital importing country because it makes us less susceptible to trade shocks.
