the people that formed the country were masons. masons pray to and believe in god.
this includes alota people that are masons,----- muslims hindi, christians.
this excludes atheists.
btw several of the founding fathers were atheists and not masons, but they still went along with the program for the common good, not like us.
No one is forcing you to be a Christian if you don't want to be one. The religious majority has been Christian and it will continue to be that way for a long time.
nobody is arguing against either one of these points. but being a nation that has a popular religion and one that is ruled by the laws and guidelines of that religion are two different things.

You just have to believe in a creator, not a God. You can believe the creator is a little green man or whatever you'd like.
Thats why many of the founding fathers were Deists. They believed in a creator, but that creator plays no direct intervention in our daily lives or outcomes.
I don't believe I said they wanted it to be a Christian nation. I said they WERE indeed Christian.
Never said they were but they were indeed created by Christians.
Not sure what this is about, I never mentioned the 10 commandments or other religions. Simply clarified to the OP that the FF were indeed Christians.
Again not arguing any of this just making it clear to the OP the facts about the FF.
The 10 Commandments were given to Moses (according to the Old Testament) more than 3,000 years ago. Christianity is 2010 years old, or less, certainly Christianity can't predceed Jesus Christ. So the commandments were not created by Christans, but they were adopted by Christians because Jesus has said to have advised keeping "the commandments".
Deists are pretty far away from Christian, and many of them were proclaimed deists.
Deism (pronounced /ˈdiːɪzəm/, us dict: dē′·ĭzm)[1][2] is a religious and philosophical belief that a supreme being created the universe, and that this (and religious truth in general) can be determined using reason and observation of the natural world alone, without the need for either faith or organized religion. Many Deists reject the notion that God intervenes in human affairs, for example through miracles and revelations. These views contrast with the dependence on revelations, miracles, and faith found in many Jewish, Christian, Islamic and other theistic teachings.
Pretty far away from Christianity.
Yes but the majority were NOT Deists, they WERE Christian.

No the majority were some sort of Christian. Read, learn!
But you said "The founding fathers were Christians" they all weren't. In fact, many are in doubt.
The list on that website takes the wholesale belief, but each had separate beliefs of their own as well.
You can't lump them into "They were Christian" without exploring who they were individually.
The fact is, many of them weren't Christians, or practiced just enough to be accepted by the population as a whole. Jefferson is a perfect example of just that.

You are correct but the key thing you say is they were adopted by Christians. Has any other religion done that? Not that I know of. So they are indeed Christian in most peoples views.

I was just offering an example of an alternative creator, who was not God.
