They've got the cash, so as long as taxpayer bucks aren't being used for nonessential things why not?

Gee, thanks for adding so much insight and depth to this thread It's a wonder that any thread in CD can exist without your keen wisdom and intellect.

$3 to $5 million = "poof" gone in a few hours.

That could help a lot of people IN REAL need than to be spent essentially for a few hour party.

The Clintons (Chelsea) would have really impressed me if they did a down to earth type wedding reception without the co$t. I didn't know that she was "the queen of sheba".

(freaking used in place of other words that I feel like saying here, but would be starred out)
Yeah, if Bush Supporters would understand the fact that troops are enduring very trying circumstances right now maybe they too would not smile on the fact that our former president's boozy daughter has spent 100k on a wedding.

The Bush family is Texas and US elite. They got theirs. They had it before political office and they certainly secured business for their cronies while they were in office. Nothing to be surprised about! The Bush's are probably still in the industry of war, just from a stance that none of us can see.

Keep guzzlin your oil. They count on it. Literally.

You could have said the same thing about Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI - they like the Clintons were into lavish opulent parties and high living and Marie Antoinette was very much like Hillary and even insulted the starving peasants with "Let them eat cake". Those who fail to learn from history are in danger of history repeating.

Yes, well those who believe things like the above w/o checking them out might be in danger of something, too. Marie Antoinette never said that, and it was apparently a common saying at the time.

Okay - maybe it was Hillary who said it. I tend to get the two mixed up.

BTW we all are tributing to the wedding since WE the tax payers are paying for the security and I assume the security cost more for a 3-5 million dollar wedding than a $ 100K wedding!

In today's economy...wow....perhaps you can say it is stimilating the economy...but i guess giving away 1 million would do more for people than this.
I don't know about you but I'm not giving any kind of tribute. I wasn't even invited
