As well as locking up people for non violent "crimes" of growing, selling, and using marijuana. And making Mexican drug cartels more powerful and deadly than ever.

One of these days (MAYBE) these jackwagons will wise up. I always enjoy when these threads pop-up. One of my first threads was a marijuana thread. Here's to the legalization of the "happy-plant".

The following link is from my thread... Pre-Employment drug screening. How many believe marijuana should be excluded? Fact vs. Myth

You can thank our big tobacco, alcohol, and pharmaceutical lobbyists for that, along with the greedy politicians whose pockets they line.

They did legalize drugs in Mexico. It didn't work - things are getting more violent.

Alcohol is a vicious substance, much more harmful then alcohol and most other drugs. It creates more problems then all the illegal drugs combined, it causes people to miss more work then the others too. It causes more health problems, its just a nasty substance, but for some reason it is acceptable.... Go figure. Drunks are some of the most useless members of society, when they aren't drunk they are hungover.

The cartels do traffic pot but their big money item as of late is meth.

Being a healthcare professional I'd agree with the premise that alcohol is more destructive than pot.

DuPont as well, they were instrumental in the initial legislation and smear campaign, they were starting to make wood based papers and developing plastics and did not want to compete with hemp.

I always get a laugh out of those who call pot a "gateway" drug. If anything is a gateway drug it's alcohol. People are willing to try all kinds of things when they are drunk that they wouldn't otherwise.

Wrong. The reason there is so much violence is because they are fighting over the supply. The supply to the U.S.

Portugal and the Netherlands have less crime and drug addiction than we do.

Alcohol and Pot effect different people in different ways

Most people forget that they are under the influence
when taking a depressant (alcohol) hallucinogen (pot)
plus there are so many other factors that either one can
be deemed harmful, like many of you I've seen examples of both and it usually starts out funny but in the end someone
always get's hurt and sadly most of the time it's someone
innocent who had nothing to do with it.
