Elizabeth Warren: Wall Street?s public enemy No 1

The financial industry fears that Warren’s single-minded fight for the consumer will strip away their ability to charge fees and customise products. But she is a hero to many lawmakers and consumer advocates, due in no small part to the fear she...

Wall Street Critic Inspired New Consumer-Protection Agency

Ms. Warren, for years a scourge of Wall Street, has emerged as an influential force in the administration's overhaul of financial regulations. The White House said the agency she helped inspire would strengthen consumer protection in areas including credit cards, mortgages and other financial products. If approved by Congress, it would be able to write new rules governing how products can be sold.

Jesus Christ could descend from the sky, land in Washington, and unravel a glowing parchment which stated that it was His Father's Will that Liz Warren should be placed in this position and it was would have the same impact this petition would have, which is none.

While I think Elizabeth Warren is extremely qualified for this post, she and the entire department would be ineffective to change anything. She shouldn't waste her time. Nothing is going to change with this supposed financial services reform.

She's the one who thought up the whole idea of a consumer protection agency so of course she should head it. Just as obviously Wall St. wants the spot filled be a do nothing and they're afraid of Warren because she actually would try to end the dirty tricks and sneaky double deals.
