Europol - the EU's criminal intelligence bureau - issues a bunch of annual reports, on of them on terrorism. The 2010 report (covering the year 2009) is out.
Anyone care to take a guess as to the percentage of terror attacks - failed, foiled or successfully executed - that were traced back to Islamist groups or individuals? The number surprised the heck out of me.
0.3%. That's not a typo. Zero point three. OK, so the numbers are low enough that plus/minus one attack would skew the stats, but even so - they would have to be off by a factor of more than one hundred if Islamist groups were to approach even a plurality of the attacks.
Be honest - who here expected that?
