If you wish to update the tax code so that civil unions get the same contractual legal benefits as marriage, fine, do it. But leave marriage (a.k.a. "holy matromony") and the sanctity of that holy union of marriage before God alone....one man, one woman.
Until then, the 14th guarantees gay marriage.

Don't take my word for it, ask some married (and divorced) people.
lol! I'm no country music fan, but I love Dolly.

I've been with my partner for 14 years and we have two kids. I know very well the ups and downs. Really, I'm living a heterosexual lifestyle

If we ban gay marriage, why don't we go all the way and jail adulterers and ban strip clubs? After all, these are forms of perversion, right?

I'm sure many of these people would be very happy to ban strip clubs and pornography. The concepts of freedom and liberty for all mean nothing to them.

well, wouldn't that be government overstepping its bounds? haha. You know that's what they would say.

If you don't like same sex marriage, don't marry someone of the same sex as you.

Huh? What does Bush have to do with this? If you're referring to Ted Olson, he acted on his own in taking this case. It had absolutely nothing to do with George Bush.
