I ask because I'm interested in seeing how many are out there who don't fit the typical party platform.
Great thread Truth Beauty!

As someone who has sought to find a "home" among the political voices in America (with frustrating results) I do sometimes feel like a political misfit. I definitely don't fit into either major party and find my own network of relations completely divided among the two. Two major representations is certainly not enough and it has been frustrating to me that some diehard Rep's or Dem's seem to also have complete amnesia about the historical track of each party and the way each has morphed. They will continue to change.

I mentioned this reference in another thread but think it is worth mentioning again. As someone who is pro-military but definitely concerned about excessive engagements and military spending and as someone who also grapples with the lib/con dividing line this was one of those "aha" finds. Look in your local library or dig it up on Amazon:

"Ain't My America: The Long, Noble History of Antiwar Conservatism and Middle American Anti-Imperialism."

I think that being educated about your party/angle's history is as important has having a stance.

Will the revolt be televised?

No really, I take it seriously. Rural determination is probably, at first, a quite undetected weapon. But what does the "revolt" aim to solve?

I understand all of this.

What about, to use your words, the "lazy losers" in the rural districts? What about them? Please tell me they are not part of the revolt.

I am most certainly a political misfit. I don't even, anymore, want to be an Independent because it's just going to be another POLITICAL party. And Politics seems to me has only brought WAR, POVERTY, ANGER, CRIME, HOMELESS, UNFAIR TREATMENT, UNLIVABLE MINIMUM WAGES, CONFUSION, HATRED, BIGOTRY, THEFT, INCOME RAPING, MAJORITY STRUGGLE, LIES LIES LIES. Politics IS NOT WORKING for the greater good. It works for itself and itself only. Sure, we've all seen some flourishing times, but two Great Depression/Recessions and several in between, within one hundred years, isn't a real comfort. We as humans REALLY need to come to a new kind of reality. Because, repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results IS INSANE.

Life is tough enough as it is. Who the HELL needs the two-faced people insane with political agenda?

I've basically had it. Could ya tell?

I'm affraid I take issue with this first statement. Like many repubs they think one way but act another ( as a party)

Here is the definition of Fiscal Conservative
- Fiscal conservatives often consider reduction of overall government spending and national debt as well as ensuring balanced budget of paramount importance.

Now in practice all the rep presidents have done exactly the opposite of this. I would think it would irritate the people of the party that their leaders are not following the tenants of their parry. Oddly the one in recent history that came close to this policy was clinton and he by no means is a rep. so is it that the party simply has made a shift but the party members didnt get the memo?

I know the reps are bright enough to realize GW increased gov spending by massive amounts, he came no where near balancing the budget and he certainly did major damage to the national debtt... and it was no different under Regan. yet Reps still think they should vote Rep to get this... It just doesn't ad up.

Count me in as another misfit. I support beliefs on both sides of the spectrum.
