The federal government HAS to give money to the states. States are not nations, they cannot control economies, nor can they produce money, they have to cut money and their budgets to operate. Many states have run out of their savings over the past few years. If the federal government doesn't step in to help, then the states will be insolvent and bankrupt....and what then is the point of our federation. If states can't function-no lights, no roads, not schools...then forget it, we just dropped to a third world nation. Do you want that? It sounds as if you do.

You should look up what an oligarchy is. See: Russia. the control over all, by the will of the few and the rich. It is a scourge of western civilization. and this is the road the Repugs are taking us down.
Cannot rep you again yet.

No I don't think you do know?
The Democrats had control of Congress, therefore control of the budget and appropriations bills since 2007. Look it up. Then notice how those Democrats reversed the trend of the Republicans' declining deficits beginning in FY 2008 (budget passed by Democrat Congress in 2007).

Maybe Fixed News should hire you.

The next post you repsond to of mine, on any thread, and I will report it as harrassment.
If you cannot debate with facts, perhaps you shouldn't participate in the discussion.

Since when is refuting a post with facts harrassment?

Believing that lower tax rates helps business and believing that raising taxes during a recession is bad for the economy is in no way related to pointing out that Social Security is bankrupt.

It is beyond strange to hear the word hypocrisy shouted at someone who holds these two beliefs.

I'm actually ok with raising the retirement age for SSI though I'd like to also see the SSI cap removed. There is no reason why the bottom 98% should pay SSI taxes on 100% of their income while the top 2% only pay it on their first $106,000. Make everyone pay the same rate. I though wing nuts wanted a flat tax?

You mean the completely factually correct Taibbi article even if you don't like what it said?
