citizenkane, in Washington, this is stupid crap. I care how old he is because he is the easiest target. Why was he rambling in front of the camera? He's 80 years old, that's why.
So what your saying is the man is too incompetent to be in congress and his ramblings prove this?
For every "one" you will find 10 that stay! And then you'll find 20 that will protect the ten that stay!
When they leave its almost always because they were indicted or convicted. I recall Al D'Amato's brother using his office letterhead to get favors and of course Al didn't know, no ethics violation. The keating 5 no problem there the list goes on and its not about party affiliation. Rangel needs to go and many more the voters need to enforce term limits the easy way. Even if he is found guilty nothing happens, ethics committee is a toothless tiger.
The man has been corrupt so long that he doesn't even realize he is corrupt, he thinks it's just business as usual. I would like to see him buried so deep in prison that they have to pipe in light to the scum.
Even if he were honest, he has been in Washington so long, 40 years, he has no idea what goes on in the outside world. The only reason those old coots continue to run is the perks are too good to give up. They aren't there for us, their there for themselves..
The country needs young people with new ideas. 75 should be the absolute maximum they be allowed to run, and even that is too old. They should all go fishing..
It was sickening to see those people (including the NY mayor) offer up praise to this crook....and do it with a straight face.
