I disagree wholeheartedly. Mr. Gibbs is doing a great job, and I hope he stays on until the bitter end.
He is doing a good job or accurately portraying, the arrogant, condescending nonsensical and dangerous character of the current
White House infestation, obama et al.
[quote=Geechie North;15429920]..., we are a Center-Left Country.
That is amazing, you must be a federal judge.
One person, with the clickety-clack of a computer keyboards wipes out and overturns the will of the vast majority of Americans who are center-right by their own nature.
Misleading title to the article, translating into a misleading title of the thread.
“To set the record straight, I did not call for White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs to resign,” he says. “Unfortunately the Huffington Post and other media outlets got the story wrong. I did say, however, that he went too far in his rhetoric. We all know that words matter in politics. I hope that Mr. Gibbs has reconsidered the wisdom of his words.” -- Rep. Keith Ellison (Minn.)
There's a difference between responding to a question, asking if Gibbs should resign, by saying, "that would be fair," than to call for his resignation.
For the record, I, too, think it would be "fair" if he resigned and he did cross the line. Progressives should be drug tested? That really is outrageous for a White House spokesman to say. But if he chooses not to resign, or the White House chooses not to ask for his resignation, that would also be "fair", since, wrong or not, he's entitled to his opinion.
And let's be real, it's not as if he stood up there and lied on behalf of the President, which other Press Secretaries have been known to do.
Asked if Gibbs should resign, he said "That'd be fair, because this isn't the first time.
That question was supposedly asked of Gibbs by the HuffPo writer and that was his answer. Somehow I think that Ellison realized his foot was in his mouth and tried to get it out but couldn't. If he said it would be fair that tells me that he wanted Gibbs to resign. I would welcome that prog into my home with his Koran in hand if he would admit to what he said. I am safe, I think.
A very good designation and kudos to you to actually research this. Funny that even though you show the story isn't accurate, some are still trying to run with it.
Don't let the facts stop you from telling a good story!
You didn't read the original OP, did you? You need to read all of it and then read Jill's.
