Militarily Iran would be a pushover just as much as Iraq was. But staying there and nation building, thats where it gets messy. But nothing pulls a country out of great depression like a war.

Um, Iran is a much more sophisticated country than Iraq, that goes for the military. Plus, China and Russia are allies with Iran, China owns us, they wouldn't like us messing with Iran and would fund an attack on us. The only reason we'd attack Iran is to appease Israel, who would get wiped out as well if we were to attack.
Iran is a terrible problem and invading Iran would be a bloody mess.
however, not invading Iran will also be a bloody mess.
Its going to end in a bloody mess no matter what.
