I don't think anyone would object to the "original" pledge; you know, the first one, written by a socialist. It didn't contain the words "under god" in it. You know, the one that was changed by the christers.

The Establishment clause keeps religion out of government. Simple demographics dictate that it will, in the majority of cases, be the majority religion that runs afoul of the Establishment clause. It is a simple matter of probability. More of religion X means more opportunities for entanglement in public institutions. In the US, Christianity is far and away the dominant religion and as long as that remains true, it will be involved in the vast majority of Establishment clause cases.
The Free Exercise clause keeps government out of religion. Simple demographics dictate that it will, in the majority of cases, be the minority religions that are the subject of Free Exercise violations. Islam is a minority religion in this country and therefore much more likely to encounter prejudice against it, leading to the government overstepping its bounds and committing constitutional violations.
So what you attribute to "liberals" as some kind of absurd conspiracy is actually the result of your ignorance of Constitutional law and how demographics play into it.

Funny how leftist are all for the constitution when it fits their needs BUT if this was a Christian issue and NOT an issue revolving their beloved Muslim's would they still be so rabid in their support? Would it be a 1st amendment right then? What if this was a 2nd amendment issue?
