They're correct. As President, he's supposed to stand up for religious freedom. Of course, to the wingnuts, siding with Obama on this must make them anti-American and terrorist sympathizers..

This has NOTHING to do with religious freedom. This has everything to do with
the heap of crap that would be crammed down the survivors throats with this.

American lives were lost there. This country suffered because of this tragedy
and to take this ground and turn it into a religious hate filled cess pool stands
for everything that this country is against. What a slap in the face to this country
and the families of those who lost a loved one in this tragedy. That ground should
just simply be left alone. Nothing there........period!

obama is quickly working himself out of a job.

Religious hate filled cesspool? No, this is just a mosque, not the Catholic Church, Westboro Baptist, or any of the thousands of fundie houses of worship that preach hatred and intolerance. Speaking of which, sounds like you've got a full issue going on of both.

This isn't about religious freedom. This is not about Christian v. Islam. It is about the issue of society and the victims of 9/11 -period!

I understand the anger but you don't want any government stepping in and saying this certain religion cant build here. I agree with the President that this is a bad idea but he or no other official should step in and stop a religious building from being built on what I understand is private property.

Then you support the right of the state to decide which religion can build a house of worship and where?

Funny that Obama decides to "backpedal" after his comments at his Muslim dinner speech. He never mentions the "wisdom" of it at the dinner, but taking some heat, he decides to backpedal to a CNN reporter.

Quote:
"President Barack Obama told CNN Saturday that in defending the right of Muslims to build a community center and mosque near ground zero in a speech Friday night, he was "not commenting on the wisdom" of the project but trying to uphold the broader principle that the government should treat "everyone equal, regardless" of religion."

That is exactly WHY it is NOT about religious freedom!

muslim and islam are just as full of hate as westboro......
muslim and islam want the people of our country dead.

And nah, I don't have an issue with it, I am a Christian and don't mind sharing that. But I do know that muslim, islam, et el........are disgusting. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Gee, I never would have guessed that you're a fundie. Meaning you don't believe in a woman's right to choose , or Gays having all the same rights as the rest of us, revisionist history in the form of altering school books is on the docket as well....and then, your kind have the gall to suggest that anyone who doesn't agree with their religious based intolerance 100% is going to burn in agony for eternity.

If that's not "disgusting"..I don't know what is.
