If everybody is different and we hold the right to do as we please, why don't we legalise rape or murder?

I am relativist in my thinking, but is this modern liberalism a crock, just purported by pop culture?

Ugh this is basically a political topic but I try to base my thoughts on "freedom stops at the point it intrudes on someone elses" but up to that point do what you want it isn't my business.

Rape and murder is intruding on someone elses right to life and liberty.

It is why I don't care who marries who, and support legalizing prostitution ,some drugs, gambling, porn and other vices when between consenting adults.

Basically anything labeled a "war on" is usually unwinable and a scam.

I consider my stance to be Libertarian not liberal btw.

Because we also have the right to not be raped and murdered.

I prefer calling liberals progressives. Thomas Jefferson was a liberal.

The same Jefferson who said "the government that governs best, governs least." and "those who would sacrifice liberty for security, deserve neither."

Obama and the modern Democratic Party are no liberals.

The title of your thread answered the question.

This thread is definitely a crock.

Today's liberal wants to legislate behavior. See San Francisco and Happy Meals... The city will provide a clean syringe to a heroin addict, bud God forbid you want a Happy Meal.

Do you mean "Libertarianism" when you talk of "doing as we please"?

Why don't we legalize rape and murder? The Golden Rule, my friend. The Golden Rule.
