Since I like to play with numbers, I thought I'd throw this bone out for the wolves.

If the $870B stimulus created 150,000 jobs then those jobs only cost us $5.8 MILLION each. Many economists are claiming that the 150,000 jobs claim might be "a bit fuzzy". Are they using the stimulus to write down/dilute other wild spending? Similar to the $200 paperclips and $1500 hammers.

Something else that is interesting

Population, United States

A little quick math tells me there are about 175m working/employed in the country. That's about $5k for every working person in the US. If this President wants to spread the wealth then that seems like a decent start. That would have stimulated this economy a lot more than that tickle they called a recovery, and have now downgraded to a ripple.

Do you agree?

Where has all the money gone?

Well,, I know, Limbaugh did the math over a year ago, knowing his followers won't bother or won't know how to do it.

And I also know, this math uses a conservative ill-logic to arrive at predetermined solution.

Did you do the math when the Iraq War, along with tax cuts that disproportionally aided the weathiest Americans at the same time their incomes were increasing faster than any other segment of the populationthe bailout of bank started this deficit explosion?

Did the admnistration of George W. Bush Jr. do the math of taking of budget surplus when he entered office and turning that into a huge deficit.

Why weren't you complaining back then?

So your saying that Obama is not raisng the defcit toreally unsustainable numbers? Bush actaully had the defcit going downward inthe last years of his administration.Obama has been a huge failure i his spending and the effect isn't even being felt yet. In fact growth is now falling.

I would rather ask them to stay away from doing the math, because when they do, it tends to look like what it does in the OP.

I opened by saying I was throwing you a bone. I am using the numbers available from trusted sources (BoLS). Instead you just slammed me/them rather than make an attempt to show where you think I erred

To err is human, but you seem to perceive yourself above that sort of thing.

Thanks for that Einstein

Shouldn't it then make it easy to point out where this "ill-logic" process goes wrong?

Can you do this for us?

Einsteinsghost is just another liberal shill. Rather than posting an alternate solution to the problems, he's above that sort of thing you know, he decided that I "use conservative ill-logic to arrive at a predetermined solution". So what he's saying is that my math is ill-logical. Is there liberalmath and conservativemath? I used basic math, you know, the kind they teach in school... did they stop teaching math in school?

I didn't place a conservative or democratic label on this post, I simply stated facts that are published by the Department of Labor and Statistics.

Your math is off by a large margin.

I'm not going to redo it for you, but I'll give you one hint: Not all of the $870 Billion went to jobs. A large portion went to an instant tax rebate.

Now go figure out the rest of the exceptions (there are more) from the 870 B and recalculate.
