It seems as though I can't turn on the tv without seeing a commercial by this guy.

Pardon me if I am suspicious.

He is a hedge fund manager and made much of his fortune in oil.

Now, when he sees which way the breeze is blowing, he is doing these commercials, somehow asking us to 'buy into' his energy package.

He promotes it by showing windmills, and I think that is supposed to make the audience think he is promoting clean energy, but that is not the case.
In actuality, when you listen to him, his purpose is to make us independent of foreign oil.

Although windmills are shown (the old sort, that kills birds) his package contains polluting fuels, like gas and not-so- 'clean' coal and I would suppose biofuels and perhaps nuclear as well.

He says this will 'buy us time' - but we knew that our fuel policies were marching us toward catastrophe decades ago. It was mostly corporate propagandists and their in one way or another paid lackies who stalled our taking action earlier. We have already bought time.

Frankly, I think this is a corporate attempt to grab continuing profits from the American people. There are now quite a few people who are energy independent, off the grid.
They can point the way into the future for many of us.
Depending on property, a person could install solar and geothermal and even wind mechanisms to provide their energy needs, right at home, paying no one after the initial installations.
Energy is costing so much these days, that it is becoming more and more attractive for people to install these devices.

Which means we don't pollute at all and THEY don't get a chance to bill us once every month.

So, Bone is suggesting the more polluting fuels that THEY can make a buck at.

Pardon me for being skeptical.

I'll bet he wants governments to sign a deal of some sort which will lock them in to those polluting steady income producers.

Obama DID say that all non polluting alternates should be used to the greatest extent possible before the polluters are considered. I really hope he meant that. He did not comment, that I can see, on his meeting with Bone. I get a feeling he was not as much of a pushover as Bone thought he'd be.

I think he sponsored the old swift boat group, so I would believe McCain't might be a bit friendlier.

Anyway, I don't hear anyone buying into Bone's plan, so I guess the ads are not causing the groundswell that he expected. All these rich guys, perhaps they should leave their manipulation of the people to their proxies.
They get to think they are infallible after a while because they are surrounded with worshipping toadies.

Pardon my rudeness, but....

Duh!

...and it's Boone. T. Boone Pickens.

Pickens is a smart guy. It's a gamble, but it will probably pay off in the end for everyone, because it gives us energy independence, according to his plan. God knows it will pay off for him!

He's really into water in Texas and getting it to the big cities. Wind turbines along the easements will pay the way via the government and he won't have to foot the bill.

Do your own research though. Not saying what's he's selling is bad..but he's in it for the money.

What's so bad about:
  • Reducing dependence on foreign oil
  • Investing in "green" energy production
  • Moving from oil to natural gas in some cases
  • Making money

What's the problem everyone seems to have with the people who are putting up the money for these projects (and we're talking a LOT of money) being rewarded for their investments? Of course he stands to make a lot of money - so what?!

Looks to me like he's the only one stepping up to the plate. It's free market economics. Would you prefer government delivery of your energy needs? When the price of corn is about ten times what it is now?

I am sure you folks understand that many of these things will, indeed, be done. But all non-polluting mechanisms should be implemented before the others.
The non polluters also happen to be, on the whole, the methods that also give the home owner energy independence - independence from paying those monthly bills.
That is what I want to see, along with all Americans who are not invested in Mr. Bone's projects.
All of those methods WILL increase jobs and business, but many will be home-grown businesses, the kind that have been our traditional sources of innovation and the kind that supplies more jobs than the conglomerates.
So, I sure agree with alternate energy, just not the schemes of Mr. Bone to influence the country to line his pockets.
We are certainly smart enough to do it without him.
He just seems like a middleman and a manipulator.

I repeat - this is not against business, just BIG business.
This is not against alternates, just POLLUTING alternates.

I am sure y'all understand that?

I love listening to a guy doing a commercial that was paid for with his own money, who isn't running for political office, and who makes common sense when he talks. This isn't about race, political parties, illegal immigrants, and so forth. We all are affected equally and should be able to stop tossing our gasoline money to countries that hate us., and to our own oil companies that care nothing about us.

I don't care how much money T-Bone (sic) makes as long as it's going to save me and mine some which will enhance our quality of life as well as those of fellow Americans. If we prosper better crime is lower.

I, too, want to save money, which is why I think it is better in my pocket than Bone's.
If I implement my own system, which I can, without his help, I will not have to pay him and his conglomerate. So there is good reason to support your local solar energy guy and not this guy, who impresses me as a shifty character.
