So much for a christian nation.
I was reacting to this post , did you not read it ?
Spot on. I'm not worried about what others have done, I'll do what I can.
I gave to both the Tsunami victims and the Haiti earthquake victims. We( America) got practically zero credit for leading the way with donations and aid from the moslem world. I gave to Haiti. They're on their own now and will just have to make the best of things.
America is broke and we can't help foreign countries anymore. There are local charities I can give to. There are national charities I can give to. We're one major disaster away from imploding. Pakistan has the moslem world and China to turn to for aid.
It's terrible but one has to realize how great a tragedy Haiti was in comparison. Hundreds of thousands died in a instant and Haiti is in our backyard.
Current reports are 1/5th of Pakistan is underwater. Six million people in need of immediate humanitarian aid. Twenty million people homeless. A nuclear nation whose security is in peril.
No, this is a significantly larger natural and human disaster than what hit Haiti. Saudi Arabia will have to step up to the plate on this one as will Russia and China. Though, Russia is facing significant disasters of its own with wildfires. The US does need to secure those nukes ASAP.
Sometimes mother earth has her own way of controlling the population.
A lot of people in the Northeast benefited from CITGO's heating oil assistace plan, that was aid from Hugo Chavez's Venezuela
True, though I wonder how many knew it at the time.
