The stimulus helped, till the money ran out, as did the tax credit for first time homebuyers. My take on it is that Small business needs credit to open back up in order to expand.
Why would any business expand or, open now??

If you look at economic reality over 99% of us living on a salary instead of dividends are losers. Are you, alphamale, still working for a living? If you are, you too are a loser.

It doesn't really matter who you vote for .... this recession needs to run its course. The best that politicians can do is to mitigate its worst effects. IMHO, we have another two years at least before any recovery becomes apparent.

Won't happen.

In two years the health care taxes and rules will start takings thier toll.

My new health insurance policy with a very high deductible went up $1,000.

Most of the unemployed folks I know are busting their butt to find work even if it pays a lot less than they were making. AFAIAC receiving "free" money from an investment is no different that receiving free money from the government except the government money is generally spent instantly thus stimulating the economy whereas the dividends are stashed where they do nothing but create more dividends.

Interesting comment on health care. This is the issue that will not go away. Premiums going up for ordinary Americans, companies cutting their plans back because of the cost. It might not hit in time to override the economy for the next Presidential election but it is coming.

I absolutely disagree. If I put my savings at risk by investing in a company then I am entitled to a return based on the profits of that company. It is not "free" money.
