"The thirty-seven page pre-publication copy [PDF] of Issa's report publically charges the Obama administration with criminal activity."
Examples:
The report also contends that the White House used federal funds to promote Obama's heath care reform proposals. The Department of Health and Human Resources paid health-care economist Jonathon Gruber nearly $400,000 to provide "technical assistance" to the campaign effort for Obamacare. The administration touted testimony provided by Gruber, which appeared in a variety of mainstream media outlets, without revealing that Gruber was in fact a paid contributor.
Likewise, the report charges Massie Ritsch of the United States Department of Education with launching an email campaign to promote President Obama's takeover of the student loan program. According to the Oversight Republican Report, such actions constitute criminal abuses. "The intent of the email is clearly to create grassroots support for the president's education agenda by inappropriately leveraging Ritsch's position as a Department of Education employee. Because it was drafted or intended to influence members of Congress while they consider the president's federal student loan plan, it is unlawful."
More Chicago style politics? How soon will we read a post about Bush?
Issa appears to be styling himself after Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.), who led probes of the Clinton administration when he headed the committee, and Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.), who led investigations when he ran the panel in the last two years of the Bush administration.
Unlike Burton and Waxman, however, Issa doesn't have power to subpoena documents without the backing of House Oversight Chairman Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y) or other Democrats on the panel. Instead, he sends letter after letter to agencies and top officials in the Obama administration requesting information. The missives are aimed not only at the officials, but at the media, as the letters are posted on Issa's Web site and full of bombast.

[Issa]was little known in Congress until this year. But his committee role in opposing the Democratic administration has turned him into a minor conservative hero and frequent guest on FOX News.

Whatever do you mean? You obviously are associating Bush with crime or you would not have made this comment.

ByFred Dardick Tuesday, August 17, 2010 A few weeks ago I wrote an article From the White House to the Big House: 25 Impeachable Crimes and Counting that detailed 25 illegal acts committed by President Obama and his Democrat cohorts in Washington. It showed a President and political party willing to break the law at will in order to accomplish their political aims. Thanks to reader contributions and conservative writers around the country, here are 25 more for your consideration.
Whether or not any of these troubling examples will lead to Obama’s impeachment and/or imprisonment, only time will tell. Regardless, taken together they paint a picture of an out of control President who lacks basic American values and has little to no respect for the rule of law.
Nothing will come of it.
Doesn't matter if they stepped over the line or not.
Might be highly unethical what they did, but they did it to get their agenda passed.
They will throw Congressmen their bones every once in a while to just go away and shut up.
It will happen with Issa.
Sounds like he's continuing the tradition of Chicago politics. If there is any basis to these accusations, I hope he continues to pursue them successfully. My guess is that the trial lawyers and unions who are beholden to Obama will do their best to make damn sure that nothing sticks on the Teflon Messiah.
