Extreme, hateful acts like this and; operation pink; that so called 'baptist church' group that attacks with nasty signs and screaming at a soldiers funeral that God hates them and they are going to hell. etc. etc.

These people's actions should disgust us all, no matter our belief system.

From the article:

Quote:
Mustafa Salahuddin, an Ansonia police officer and parishioner at the mosque, calmly watched the protesters from the mosque's parking area.
"This is unfortunate, but it's a free country," he commented on the protest. "But I believe Jesus would have been appalled by this. We revere Jesus the same way they do."

And I agree. It's free speech- they're allowed to say whatever evil they want.

But it sure takes the edge off of the whole "this mosque in this location" ridiculousness.

Did you mean Code Pink?

No, the Westboro Baptist "church" is an organization in name only with the patriarch Fred as their minister and a daughter (or daughter-in-law) as the sue happy attorney that helps fund their hate speech and travels.

That's what everyone is saying about Muslims and the Muslim religion, so let's start doing it for Christianity too.

You can "love them" but you don't have to like them or not speak your mind against them.

When have you witnessed anyone protesting and pushing signs into the faces of young children outside of any Christian church or Jewish synagogue?
All this nonsense about the Mosque being built in NYC is just stirring up the nutcases and keeping their ignorant little minds off of the REAL problems this country has.

If you feel that way maybe should you divert some of "speaking your mind" out against all the money this country spends to rebuild Mosques in Iraq and Afghanistan while this country is in such a mess.
