Problem is that you inadvertently ommited the last part where Spain took over the mosque and turned it into what it is presently today, a Roman Catholic Cathedral. Seems they could have chosen a better symbol for victory if that was their intent but nice try.

A blog by a graduate student at Yale in Medieval History. His reputation is on the line- it's not like the blog is anonymous. It also links to books and scholarly works. It's not just his opinion, it's footnoted by supported facts. If I could post a book, I would. The blog was thoroughly researched and the closest thing.

Beyond the fact that I was under the impression that the history of Cordoba was fairly rudimentary. I suppose not everyone paid as much attention in the middle school history classes as I did.
