I always thought the Republican party was composed of political prostitutes but I didn't realize they were cheap prostitutes. The news corp gave them chump change.
GE owns NBC. GE donated $499K to Obama alone, not the party - one candidate who is now the President. They also gave piles of money to other candidates directly. GE got $140 billion in bailout funds which means that the federal government is directly funding the parent compnay of a major news organization. GE’s CEO Jeff Immelt sits on the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory board. Immelt reportedly held a meeting to scold CNBC reporters for being too negative about Obama. He was also asked by Obama’s Export-Import Bank to be the opening act for the President at the most recent Export-Import conference. Obama subsidizes embryonic stem-cell research, and then GE launches an embryonic stem-cell business. Obama called for rail subsidies, so GE hired Linda Daschle as a rail lobbyist. GE stands to make millions if Cap and Trade were to go through.
Immelt wrote the following to shareholders:
The interaction between government and business will change forever. In a reset economy, the government will be a regulator; and also an industry policy champion, a financier, and a key partner.
So.... the government is not and has never been "an industry policy champion, a financier, and a key partner" with big business?!
The only one of those things it hasnt always been is a regulator.
The Supreme Court's decision was far, far more damaging than any conceivable conspiracy plot you all could possibly dream up between Obama and Jeff Immelt/GE. Also, abject lackeys dont tend to speak their minds; how to explain Immelt hits out at China and Obama?

And it appears the same is true for News Corp News Corporation - Money,Politics,Campaign Contributions,News Corporation:

From the above, I'd say both corporations are trying to play both sides.

Take that up with Immelt; he said it.
Since you say these links have been created between the two, can you refute them? They are certainly no weaker than the link between News Copr and the Rep. Governors Assoc.
As for your link, the very bottom says this:
"In a statement, GE said Mr Immelt’s remarks had been taken out of context and contested the accuracy of the reporting. “Mr Immelt’s comments at a private dinner focused on the relationship between business and government in general and did not single out President Obama. Mr Immelt also discussed the attractiveness and importance of China as a market for GE.”"
All media donate to political parties everyday they report on the TV, with biased views. Monetary or voluntary, it is still a donation.
No corporation out there can compete with the big media corporations on political influence, no matter how much cash they dump into campaigns.
What is the big freaking deal here anyways. So right Media donate to their political party of choice, which usually is the DEMOCRATS anyways. I see no problem, except that some want to make it something that it is not. Hollywood celebrities, entertainers, usually donate tons of money to the Democratic party. Sure did not help in anyways with the way our Country is being run by Obamadunse.
I'd expect nothing less from the propaganda wing of the conservative right. It all about advancing their cause.
