I don't see anyone applauding, dancing or cheering, unless you consider the very act of just REPORTING the bad news as a celebration.

Unfortunately for you and obama, there is NO WAY to know for certain what would have happened.

Many people think that taking $1+ trillion out of the economy, passing another entitlement program for $2.5 Trillion and raising taxes is causing the economy to tank.

ALL of that is on obama.

Oh god. I don't think we're headed for a second recession but I DO think it's going to be a long, painful recovery.

Nobody is applauding people losing their jobs. It's ridiculous that the president is more preoccupied with suing Arizona instead of defending them and insulting 9-11 victims by defending the insensitivity of building a mosque at Ground Zero. How about getting some certainty in what next year's tax rates will be? That would help quite a bit and no more money need be spent for that...

Because they aren't paid to forecast what is expected to happen.

They are paid to give us numbers that will soften the impact of the really bad news when it's finally quantified.

Unfortunately, most people aren't smart enough to know that the media emphasizes the most optimistic and unrealistic figures, and the real revised numbers (released long afterwards) are typically just buried in an inside corner of a newspaper (if published at all).

Apparently, the ruling class no longer believes that "there's a sucker born every minute," but thinks instead that "Most Americans are suckers."

What happened to recovery summer? Obama is a completely inept tool. He spends our money like we just won some lottery, racking up our national debt on pork projects that did nothing to stimulate anything. He goes golfing, takes vacation, goes campaigning all week, and takes anothoer vacation! All the while, the little people are losing their jobs, homes, 401K's, savings... But, the most important things to this idiot are suing Arizona and telling everyone how a mosque should be built.

Maybe if we took a cue from the President the economy would pick up. Take more vacations. Sue more organizations. Hire illegals. Help foreign powers build controversial and insensitive political and religious centers. Take over more companies. Bail out the investment banks. Give Wall Street a break. Greed is good, right Mr. Obama?
