We see that right before our very eyes today and it has been going on since 2007 when the bubbles started to burst. The people who allowed this to happen think they have the solution to the problems they created. How stupid are we to believe them ?

I do recall, as I watched our Treasury Secretary lambaste FM and FM, all those words from the "most intelligent" (Frank, Dodd, Giethner et al) planners we have up there in our far-off distant capital.
Strange how a speech made nearly 50 years ago has such a profound presence in today's times.
Basically, the same message Reagan used in the 1982 midterms. The Republicans didn't get completely slaughtered in those midterms, so this could work for the Democrats.

The PDB of Aug 2001 detailed potential hijackings (the same kind of hijacking threats that had been ongoing for YEARS) to obtain the RELEASE of the Blind Sheik.
It did not say they wanted to fly them into buildings. Check it out, learn something new instead of the propaganda from the Left.
Why did the attacks of 9/11 work? Because the airlines and passengers had been told for YEARS to NOT put up a fight, just fly to where the hijackers wanted to go and everybody lives. No one realized they would plow the planes into targets.

IF the CIA had been allowed to open up Zacharia's brief case, all the dots would have been connected most likely, but without the two agencies sharing INTELLIGENCE, it was a lost cause.

It won't be possible to go back to President Bush, as he can never again be elected to the Presidency. But if I could go back I'd be happy to go as opposed to the Democratic alternative.
