It would appear that you have done no reading or research on this matter, just assumptions, and opinions.

1) Which Sharia Law are you referring to? Modernist, Traditionalist, or Fundamentalist? Which country of origin of Sharia Law are you referencing? Sunni or Shi'a? Saying "Sharia Law" is like saying "Christianity", there are many varieties.

2) The feminists I know do not support institutionalized oppression of women regardless of the religion involved. Extremist Islamic treatment of women is abhorrent.

3) Go to the N.O.W website, search for Islam, and you'll see the many campaigns they are involved in.

http://www.now.org/

4) There are many great Islamic feminists, look them up, and learn a little. Nayereh Tohidi, Shaheen Sardar Ali, Fereshteh Ahmadi, Leila Ahmed, Irshad Manji, Riffat Hassan.

5) Do your own research about Rauf, don't rely on the hate-sites. Rauf's wife, Daisy Khan is well known in the feminist community.

http://www.asmasociety.org/about/b_dkhan.html

6) You do realize that Muslim countries have produced seven heads of state right? US = 0.

Benazir Bhutto - Pakistan
Mame Madior Boye - Senegal
Tansu Ciller - Turkey
Kaqusha Jashari - Kosovo
Megawati Sukarnoptri - Indonesia
Khaleda Zia - Bangladesh
Sheikh Hasina - Bangladesh

Bangladesh was the first country in the world to have one female head of state follow another.

7) Sarah Palin is an idiot.

Who is imposing Sharia? I can't seem to go a day without having Sarah shoved in my face as if she were something except our National Village Idiot

Well, Sarah palin believed the witch doctor Muthee from kenya helped her become Alaska's gov (search "palin + muthee + youtube" etc and ye shall easily find refeences / videos). Recall, Muthee wanted a hapless woman killed in Kenya because she was thought to be a witch.

Here are a couple of links - the search will get you many!

Question is (regardless of my contempt of Shariah) - why does not the concerned public (or our fair and balanced FOX) get on Sarah's case about her believing in witchcraft?? It is equally stupid and dangerous.

Sarah Palin is considered a leader in the Republican Party, and she comes across as a moron. I don't know of any Sharia leaders in the U.S. who threaten to take us down a dark path. Palin is a much bigger threat to the things we cherish.
