Do you have any idea who lives in NYC? This is not exactly a hotbed of conservatism. And most of the people here are against this development.

Maybe in your neighborhood it's conservatives, but in mine it's just a majority of people in general; and there are very few conservatives here. There are, however, Muslims here speaking out against it among other people.

We are not Saudi Arabia, nor should we be. Are you purposing we act like them?

Because we in the United States live by a higher standard of freedom for all religion, not just one religion. The founding fathers of this country were adament about allowing Islam a voice in their new nation.

Oh wow! LOL! That's tremendous.
The mayor is not a Republican.
He called himself a Republican in the past to get through a process in which he had no other way to win.
He no longer even calls himself a Republican, and isn't even concerned with such labels.

If you know that, you're being very irresponsible in your argument.
If you don't, you don't know enough about what goes on here to even talk about it.

Don't EVER call me a liar. EVER.

I don't care who opposes what or what their ideology is. I'm asking a specific question about why conservatives, who usually defend private property rights, now want the government to step in and control the rights of a private property owner based on ideology.

I side with Obama on this one: it may not be the wisest decision, but where does government have a right make that decision for the owner?

I'm saying you insist on one way tolerance, and the bannning of non m uslims from mecca predates saudi arabia by 1000 years. It's a muslim thing, not a saudi thing.

When you stop lying about who is against this project I will stop calling you a liar. Until then, I will call you what you are. You're a liar.

You can side with whomever you want to side with, but stop spreading lies about the people who DON'T side with YOU.

I don't know, like when liberals ban smoking in bars?

I understand your argument, and am not defending the ban from Mecca, but two wrongs don't make a right. If we can be the ones to take the high road by being the beacon on the hill, it can only help in the long run.

How about Chris Christie?
