This is totally absurd! It hasn't done so thus far in the history of man and homosexuals have been around for thousands of years. If you think everybody wants to "become" a homosexual, then you have no clue.

And it's a good thing the republicans passed the Civil Rights Act or we may not be as far as we are in race relations.

You need to read History 101. Everyone that studies politics knows that the DEms were the Party of the Old South. This changed gradually after LBJ (Dem) signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965. The Southern senators gradually turned into Republicans. This was accelerated in the late 1970s and especially during the Reagan era when Reagan opened up his campaign in Philadelphia, Miss (famous for the burial place of 3 young civil rights workers who were murdered in 1964). Gee Whiz, how many times must this be repeated on this forum for ppl to get this?
Republicans are obviously the racists today.

I'm old enough to remember King's speech in 1963. Glen Beck represents the far-right wing of American politics, the same group of people who demonized King and the civil rights movement in the 50's and 60's, calling him a "Communist" agitator and "race mixer". This rally is a very very cynical political move by a figure who exploits peoples' fears, hatred, and ignorance daily on his TV and radio shows----the exact opposite of King's philosophy. For shame.

Do some reading. The dems bought the black mans vote just like they're trying to do with the Hispanics.

Republicans pushed the Civil Rights Act.

How is she piggybacking? Because she is speaking at an event? What a stretch. NO ONE should use his name or deeds. They should earn their own!

It was a republicans who had the 1st and 2nd Civil Rights Act. Democrates had the 3rd. I guess they neglected to teach you that in school.

The Civil Rights Act of 1875 (18 Stat. 335) was a United States federal law proposed by Republican Senator Charles Sumner and Republican Congressman Benjamin F. Butler in 1870. The act was passed by Congress in February, 1875 and signed by President Grant on March 1, 1875. It was declared unconstitutional[1] by the US Supreme Court in 1883[2]. Many of the provisions of the Civil Rights Act of 1875 were passed into law in the 1960s with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Fair Housing Act using the federal power to regulate interstate commerce.

Civil Rights Act of 1875 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eisenhower administration declared racial discrimination a national security issue, meaning that the Communists around the world were using racial discrimination in the U.S. as a point of propaganda attack.[55] The day after the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision in Brown v. Board of Education in which segregated ("separate but equal") schools were ruled to be unconstitutional, Eisenhower told District of Columbia officials to make Washington a model for the rest of the country in integrating black and white public school children.[56][57] He proposed to Congress the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1960 and signed those acts into law. The 1957 Act for the first time established a permanent civil rights office inside the Justice Department. Although both Acts were weaker than subsequent civil rights legislation, they constituted the first significant civil rights acts since the Civil Rights Act of 1875, signed by President Ulysses S. Grant. The "Little Rock Nine" incident of 1957 involved the refusal by Arkansas to honor a Federal court order to integrate the schools. Under Executive Order 10730, Eisenhower placed the Arkansas National Guard under Federal control and sent Army troops to escort nine black students into Little Rock Central High School, an all-white public school. The integration did not occur without violence. Eisenhower and Arkansas governor Orval Faubus engaged in tense arguments.

Try the fact that majority of the the Dixiecrats remained Democrats until their dying day. Even though that is a fact that the Dems try to lie about.
