After watching this event, I was simply disgusted at the vitriol and hate spewed forth.

First, they sang this "national anthem" song.

THEN, they actually said the pledge of allegiance.

One of the freaks said a prayer on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial for crying out loud...like Lincoln gave a crap about God.

The whole time they talked about being better people, having honesty and integrity in our lives and kept referencing this "sky God" saying he had something to do with the country and our well being.

They even went to so far as to claim there were these cryptic writing all around Washington saying things like "Glory to God in the highest". Of course we all know that can't be right because of separation of church and state.

Horrible!

I think the worst part was when all the "whiteys" cheered when a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. came up on the screen. What do those crackers know about a brother's struggle?

Anyone...ANYONE who watched that and comes away with some kind of comment about it being self serving, political, hateful is really one egg short of an omelet and so entrenched in ideology they can't see past their own nose. To claim such things - especially if one did not watch it for themselves, shows a personal lack of integrity, honesty and care for the truth. Not like it, fine, not agree, fine. But distortion, conjecture and false witness is just wrong.

God forbid they should preach about moral values, honor and respect.

This was a pretty interesting article - not worth it's own thread but perhaps more appropriate tucked in this ginormous RH Rally thread instead.

I really don't care how many people were at the rally, but it bugs that the CBS report obviously has underestimated the headcount. It doesn't take a genius to look at stock photos of other rallys that had documented attendance numbers and see that unless those were SEVERELY underestimated, there's no way that there was ONLY 87,000 there on Saturday.

With that being said, it's a bit interesting to read this article to hear how CBS labeled Glen Beck & Al Sharpton before the event even took place:

Labeling Contrast: Glenn Beck = 'Controversial Conservative;' Al Sharpton = 'Civil Rights Leader' | NewsBusters.org

Let's get something out of the way here though:

Notice, its the same people on here that go on and on and on and on about Glenn Beck. He could hold an event on any day of the week, and it could be about "Faith, hope and charity" and anything else that is good, and they still bash him, call him a racist, etc. You people are obsessed with him. Im starting to wonder how many of you have some Glenn Beck dolls that you constantly torture hoping that the real Beck will feel the pain and agony.

This rally is not political. He's stated it many times. He said would it will be about. Yet here you all are, flapping at the gums with more hate and garbage. Tell me something, whens the last time one of your "heroes" like Olbermann and Madcow ever held an event to do anything to honor our troops, our country, and promote restoring honor or anything of the sort?! Never. You people dont rally together unless you have something to hate on. Unless you have an effigy to burn, curse words to scream about someone, etc. Do you even see how ridiculous you look CONSTANTLY complaining and bashing Beck, especially over this event? An event that promotes goodness and our country. You people are really unbelievable.

So here is a question, especially for the typical and usual Glenn Beck bashers, you know who you are and well.....we all know who you are because your obsession is pretty much known by everyone on here.

1. Why are you hating on this event, yet its not even happened yet? Its a peaceful event, and you heard what will take place there and about some of the content and speakers, yet you do nothing but spit out hate and conspiracy theories. Why not let it actually occur, and then if you hear of something being made political or something hateful then speak out about it?

2. Between some posters here, the media, MSNBC, etc its hard to tell who is more obsessed with Beck. Tell me, when is the last time you seen anyone on the Left, especially the big mouths, do anything like this? Do anything to promote America, helping restore honor, raising money for and honoring our troops? Rallying people together for something peaceful and not some angry protest that usually has something to do with putting down America?
Come to think of it, I dont think it happens. If so, it sure is rare.
BucsLose !!! ... Three Thumbs Up For You !!!

Indeed you are most accurate in your above assessment regarding so many of this nations pitiful "Bad News On The Doorstep Liberal Loons" !

"Old Glen the Man Beck" once again has come through with a great national event which reflects the "Pride & Honor" most of America's citizens (especially our military veterans), feel about our awesome U.S. Military !

Upon close observation of the great success and vast amount of America "Patriotism" involved in this outstanding event ... it truly appears that only those folks who are acute psychopaths would have any complaints and or objections to the extremely great work and fatastic results of such a truly unprecedented American event as Old Glen Beck has provided for all of us !!!

May we never ever forget the bravery and sacrifice of our excellent men and women in the U.S. military, past and present !

Thanks / Old Sgt. Lamar

Here's a few of my own observations. Some people are making fools of themselves complaining about this rally and their bitterness and warped interpretations of is nothing short of Olbermannesque. It seemed like an orderly enough event and was well attended. Whether it was 250,000 or 300,000 or over 500,000, it was well and respectfully organized.( only 87,000 does seem pretty dumb) I'm sure that is what is pissing many people off, they wanted people to act in a certain way and they didn't.
Beck stuck his finger in the eye of the left and succeeded in using MLK against them without denigrating him. Self serving, yes. But he also gave a lot of people a chance to prove they aren't racists. Calling so many Tea Partiers racists after they invoke MLK in their call for change and reform in government is going to sound even more mean spirited and now even idiotic. The left better drop that tactic or they'll go the way of those using the term " islamophobic": regarded as divisive kooks on the fringe of extremism.
Lastly, give Al Sharpton a break. The guy is an even bigger self promoter than Glenn Beck. He's actually pretty chummy with the folks at Fox News. He was 100% okay with therally and was only too glad to be cast as the opposition. Hating him or praising him is kind of silly.
We need MORE rallies like this, people should be angry and gathering to demand the government get off its duff and stop making such a mess of the country. Both parties deserve blame but right now our current administration is public enemy No.1 so to speak, so they're getting the most criticism. And considering they promised change and improvement and have delived neither, they deserve what they get.
BTW, Somebody tell Mr. Obama he can come back to DC now, the coast is clear.

I find it outrageous to "use" MLK against anybody. Beck should be ashamed, but I'm sure he's not.
