Your son now? In the post I quoted of your's you said, " Just yesterday my wife told me that
a friend had learned that and was really mad".

what's that got to do with anything? You get your news from Stewart and Colbert?

I would much rather the mother receive some sort of financial assistance at least until the children are in school full time so she is there to actually raise the children. (And, FYI, I did have a husband.)
Sorry, but I was a single mother for 12 years and I raised her. Yes, she was in school/child care until 5:30 and she turned out to be a very kind, loving and beautiful person without any assistance from any one other than me. It has nothing to do with quantity but with quality.

I was afraid of just that. Universal health care is the thing we have to have whether the nation can afford it or not. Tax the hell out of the wealthy until the time that there are no longer any of those people around and then just crank up the printing presses.

It is way past time for many people to look into what the next socialistic practice to follow universal health care will be. I really wonder how you can talk about affordable health care and universal health care in the same breath. I guess there are some doctors and nurses who want to be told by some bureaucrat who and how they treat people but not nearly enough of them to provide what you want.

Looking at the Tea Baggers I'd say cut it off at 65, the seem to have lost all reason. Also force anyone in the government to retire at 65

People keep talking about 18 being a magic age for drinking and voting so I took it for granted that 18 being late teens would qualify for that statement by me. Are those 18 year olds really not teens drunk or sober?

Sorry, but it doesn't get more comedic than Fox News and they aren't even comedians.

I know there is an exception to this generalization, but for the most part it seems most are not informed enough about long term consequences of their votes.
I'm also in my 20s and I know that most people my age don't even vote. So it's not like it'd really change anything. That said, people in their 20s pay taxes just like everyone else and should have their voices heard.
