Yes, and the claim that was made earlier in the thread is that OBAMA was reducing the child tax credit. However, the phaseouts were PART of the child tax credit passed by Bush. The child tax credit is NOT changing.

Yeah, all of these things were bad for America:

The Civil Rights Act, ending segregation, giving women the right to vote, and preventing millions from starving during the depression.

Other "hellish" things liberals have done:

Fighting for the rights of gays to be accepted in society, passing legislation to prevent pollution, requiring workplaces to be safer, ending child labor, and providing social security and medicine to the elderly so they don't starve or die of preventable diseases.

Oh yes. Liberals are terrible people.

the civil rights act was passed by republicans and northern democrats. the southern democrats tried to block the civil rights and voting right legislation.

some good came out of those pieces of legislation, but like anything the liberals went overboard and hurt the competitiveness of US companies on the world market. also note that all the major pieces of legislation that was passed back then had bipartisan support, and the support of the people. what the liberals are doing now does NOT have the support of the people.

You voted a man, into a position which makes him the most powerful man in the world, based upon the color of his skin. Had he been half black, with white skin, there are MILLIONS like that, you would have never have voted for him.

He was under qualified, nieve, and ignorant to what he could do and it is now showing. We ALL, no matter what party, are suffering for it.
Well said Phil, and for all of you that voted for Hillary in the primary you voted against Obama. When he won you all suddenly thought he qualified.

This is Jimmy Carter all over again, Reagan took a lot of cr@p when he had to take extreme measures to fix what Carter did. So just remember that when Obama is gone and the next president, democrap or
re-puke-lican takes office.

His presidency is a Democratic (as in the party) failure. He is as much a victim of the worst Congress we've had in the history of this nation as the rest of the country is. His plans to fix America have all but become ridiculous pipe dreams because of the blatant corruption present in our legislature. Nothing is passed. Backroom deals are made. Obama smiles & signs the bill because he knows something is better than nothing.

I think he'll be remembered as a "D" level president. Not horrible; but very mediocre.
Last I checked he is the party leader and sets the agenda. He is not black, he is mollato. He promised to cleanup Washington but instead sues Arizona and lets the black panthers escape justice.

Why do you libs really think that being black counts for anything? What counts is your actions, your integrity and your philosophy. Obama has failed on all counts and that has nothing to do with RACE!!!

Overboard is an understatement. No where in the constitution or bill of rights does it mention gay rights. If anyone does not think we are tolerant try living in Iran, Saudi Arabia or any muslim country.

Abolutely false!

President George Bush signed the Economic Growth and Recovery Tax Act into law in 2001, with an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2010.

Unless Congress passes an extension, the child tax credit will be wiped out, and the penalty for married couples restored. Perhaps the most dramatic: taxes on dividends will essentially double.

If Obama and congress don't extend the EGRTA next year it will be gone for folks like me that actually work and contribute to society.

The meatloafs out there that do nothing won't be affected because they are part of the 47% of tax filing Americans that pay nothing.

Smash refuses to ackowledge that fact he is too busy bashing christians for wanting their church back.

And their is no indication whatsoever that the child tax credit would not be extended. In fact proposals put forth by both Obama and the Democrats in Congress have the child tax credits remaining.

Secondly, I am not bashing Christians for wanting their Church back (I am Catholic, btw). I'm simply stating the reason why the church hasn't been rebuilt yet, and its no conspiracy. It simply has to do with the plans interfering with ongoing construction.
