I'm not making an analogy with Beck. I'm saying people aren't perfect but that doesn't mean they cant do good. What was the overall theme of his speach? I thought it was respect for your fellow man. Pretty honorable if you ask me. so again what was the theme?
Of MLK's speeches? Equality.
As for Beck, his biggest imperfection is that he's conned the people he's supposed to be fighting for, not his past substance abuses
So you go from honor to respect? Grasping at straws I see. Epic fail at derailing the thread.
So honor and respect don't go hand and hand? All I said was a person can change there life. That's been my whole point this whole thread. How is that derailing it. Again honor and respect are the same in my book.
I don't care if he was a drug addict or not. All I care about is that he's a hypocrite and a trend-exploiting charlatan. Suddenly he's jumped on the uber-Christian bandwagon. Whatever.
Im not comparing him to Beck im just saying if you can respect a recovering addict you def should't respect an adulterer.
Who said anything about not respecting drug addicts? I said it's ironic that a recovering addict would preach about honor. If you inferred disrespect from that observation, well that's on you.

So is it ironic an adulterer is such an icon in are country?

No, again, I don't know if he was an adulterer, but if he was, I don't care, just as I didn't care if Clinton was. Just out of curiosity, what do you think of MLK? How do you rate him in relation to other American leaders and importance?

I think MLK was a great man. He preached love and not supremacy. I think his importance was over rated though. Men like Fredrick Douglas were much more important. George Washington is the most important.
Does Glenn Beck really take up this much of you folk's time? You've commented on virtually all of the threads that even remotely relate to him or this rally. That says more about your obsession than anything implied about Beck himself.
