If you think that all terrorists are the same and that simply bombing them to hell will end terrorism then your wrong.

The men who become radicalized by political or religious extremists have complicated and contradictory backgrounds.

Some fear that "understanding" the terrorists is a wimpy, liberal ideal.

But if we don't consider where they are coming from how can we convince the young boys to turn away from extremism before a "leader" begins to fill their heads with falsehoods that can lead to violence?

The Tea Party strategy to "blow 'em up and let God sort 'em out" may feel good while you sit back in an easy chair and sip on a Pabst Blue Ribbon while watching Glenn Beck have a near aneurysm.

But nobody can explain why that strategy has a 0% success rate (if it was successful then our troops would be bored on their home bases with nothing to do).

Consider Exhibit A: Dr. Khurram Sher

Canada: 'Singing' terror suspect volunteered in Israeli hospital - Israel News, Ynetnews

Quote:
The arrest of Dr. Khurram Sher on suspicion of plotting terror attacks has stirred up a storm not only because of his past appearance on popular TV show "Canadian Idol," but also because of new details according to which he volunteered at an Israeli hospital.

Last week, the Canadian intelligence agency reported the arrest of Dr. Sher, 28, and two of his colleagues on suspicion of terror-related offences.
Later on, the agency said it had uncovered explosives at the four suspects' residences, and that they planned to carry out terror attacks on Canadian soil and oversees.
According to reports, one of the suspects received special training in building demolition charges and bombs, but it was not clear which suspect received the training, or where it had been given.
Shortly after the initial news report, Canadian media outlets reported that Sher participated in the televised singing competition two years prior to his arrest.
During the auditions for the show, Sher identified himself as an immigrant from Pakistan, however CBC network claimed the future-terrorist fooled the judges by faking his accent, wearing special clothing and performing certain dance moves that befits the prejudice against Pakistanis.
It would be cheaper and less bloody for all sides to intervene before young men become radicalized.

Then maybe we can have a generation of peaceful, religious men who were taught the fallacy of political and religious violence before it was too late.

Dude, you better go back and study the history of Islam. This is a religion that time after time has imposed it's will on civilization. There is nothing peaceful about this religion.

Don't ask anybody to do any thinking. It is way too much for them.

The name of the game is for a specific group of people that wish to turn the whole thing into forcing people to choose between Christianity and Islam. So, they kick out this meow-meow-meow crap and thus make it all about them and their religion.

Islam is worse than Christianity. Meow-meow-meow-meow. You never see any meow-meow-meow-meow.

I agree. And I will say this again.

Islam regards lies, violence and threats of violence as legitimate means of gaining political ends. The only capacity Islam respects in an "unbeliever" is the capacity to use diplomacy or military force successfully against it. Their inability to reform is due to our appeasement and we need to change that. Appeasing the Islamic militants in America is only making it harder for the more tolerant Muslims to emerge. We cannot continue to encourage their victimhood. All that does is feed the mind of the suicide bomber. Our political correctness movement has done nothing but produce a climate where it is easy for the Muslims to lie about the true nature of Islam and get away with it. I'm tired of it.

Yup. The PC movement and it's allies in the media create little catchphrases like "Islamophobia", as if there is something wrong with us for being concerned about the true nature of Islam.

What appeasement? If you do not have the capacity or are unwilling to recognize the difference between extremists and those that aren't or act as if you lack the intelligence and therefore must creat an argument where you are pitting one religion against the other----you have nothing more than meow, meow, meow. It has nothing to do with political correctness. I'm over it.

If you do not understand where they come from and why they come up with the crap they do then you have no way of stopping it. Why do that when it is far easier to make it about the religious persecution of the Christians.

Exactly and only those that want to buy into that believe it. But, other Americans are becoming more wise to the game.
