How about ending the silly idiot pandering instead? Repeal a tax on this? You have to be kidding me.

I'm for taxing behaviors that are harmful to your health. Why should my insurance premiums go up because you want to give yourself cancer just to look good?

Thank them for what, wasting tax payer time spinning faux outrage into wasteful governing..What about the cigarette tax and the gas tax? Where's the civic outrage over the "tanning tax". Nobody gives a rats @ss but these empty suits want to make an issue out of it..Gimmie a break.

Does sound goofy, unless of course you see the pricetag attached to skin cancer from that personal behavior. The economy of vice paying for itself isn't something I'd be opposed to. STDS paid for by porn and prostitution, treatment for alcoholism paid for by liquor mfgs, iron lungs paid for by tobacco sales etc etc.
Absent from this article is the real reason motivating it's proposal.

What business does government have stealing money from people who want to tan?

Let insurance companies handle it.

Because it's my right to be irresponsible/ led around by junk science and panhandle when it all comes to roost? All I've got to do is hide out beneath a pile of people with genetic defect worthy of charity to scam by everyone. Scamming is entrepreneurship worthy of praise, not malignant predatory behavior, don't you know.

Wow, so the government is now forcing people to tan and fork over the tax money? I did not know that.

I bet pretty soon the government will force tanners to wear welding masks so they won't notice that gigantic bright yellow thing in the sky. Rumor has it this bright thingy is as effective as a tanning bed.
