Sigh.

Okay, I'll try and type r e a l l y s l o w l y so you can understand how & when we got into this mess.

Our current crisis can really be traced back to loosey-goosey lending practices by Fannie & Freddie.

Let see, let's see ... when did that start again? Oh yeah, the Clinton administration.

Ya mean , like it did when Bush was in office? The economy was tanking then and it's still tanking and you think that extending the tax breaks that DIDN'T WORK will jump start the economy????

LMAO....You'd better take a good look at those tax cut, they affect EVERYONE,not just the wealthy!

I see you're still delusional on why the economy tanked. Guess your boys Dodd and Frank had NOTHING to do with the financial mess then?

Remember the day…

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial
Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the
economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!!!

THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6%

Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION

Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac !

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001
because it was Financially risky for the US economy):

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac????

OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???

The HYPOCRITE Socialist in Chief Obama

I disagree. This topic was Obama's speech. If you're going to make statements that Republicans are violent, insensitive, war mongers you need to be willing to acknowledge the long and anything but peaceful history of your own party.

By the way I'm not even a Republican and find your juvenile use of "repugs" offensive. It lessens the impact of any other point you may be attempting to make.

I suspect the reason Republicans aren't singing the praises of the "end of the Iraq war" has more to do with the 50,000 troops many of whom are combat troops left in Iraq. They're realistic enough to recognize a political smoke and mirrors show when they see one.

Obama gave a very well crafted speech. I listened to every word and tried to pick up every nuance. You all must understand that this was not just an address to the American people, although it was, it was also an address to the entire world. He announced that our active role in IRAQ is over. He told the Iraqi people that the US stands with them but it's their country now and they are responsible. He told the Afghanis that our commitment is limited and they better get their s#*t together. He signaled to the rest of the world that we are not into imperialism and endless war in the middle east and he praised the troops who fought through all the bull$#!t. He talked about supporting our veterans after the fact.

You must acknowledge that in the current political climate, his every utterance, his every pause is scrutinized by people who have no other agenda than to pull him down. He chose his words carefully and wisely, IMHO.

The irony is that GWB was one of America's biggest disasters (as many RWNJs would so conveniently like for Americans to forget) and President Obama has a mountain of GWB horse ca-ca to shovel out of the path before America can even begin to progress.

Then the RWNJs try to blame President Obama for the same mess that they stood by and let GWB create.

Oh, the irony of it all.
