And the good old "it's fascist to regulate content" drama queen argument doesn't hold any water. The CRTC has a very clear mandate. It can't step out of it. It is the same as the FCC, except it has a little less power. I guess americans are fascists as well, right? OMG! FACISM! HITLER! STALIN! ALIEN OVERLORD!
The canadian political landscape is a lot more diverse than it is in the US with its two-party system (which are really the same in many aspects). How do you explain that, despite our fascist tendencies?
The world isn't as black and white as you like to see it. Try not to be emotional and think about it...we regulate a lot of things, and life keeps going on.
I would argue that US media are a lot less healthy right now with its huge media conglomerates that have their own agenda and push it as "facts", when most of it is opinion.
