They get sued for anything it seems like. The only other fair comparison in the size of sheriffs departments is LA County. Take a look at the angels in california, the only department that is larger than Maricopa County, civil rights suits left and right.

Kiss Arizona as we know it goodbye if we lose Joe. It's getting too rednecky anyway. Let the rednecks and illegals reproduce with each other. The military will have an endless supply of perma war cannon fodder.

Between the beginning of 2004 and today's date there are 2,693 that revolve around "prison conditions".

Why don't you ask Juan Mendoza Farias? Oh, that is right....you can't. He was in custody when he DIED. He was brutally beaten. That is a phenominally huge problem that Maricopa has. They have the most in-custody deaths.

I think there are two other investigations by the DOJ, so hopefully one way or the other he goes down.

You can hate on Joe if you like but 1 can not deny that the reason he is in business is because the Fed has failed to enforce their own laws.
^^^ Worth repeating.

Oh, was it Joe that beat him to death or was it other inmates, maybe some crooked corrections officers? There are cases like this all over the US. The facts are that jail conditions in the US are the best in the world.

Most of the 2000 plus suits are because they find their conditions harsh. I have a solution to all their problems, DON'T GET ARRESTED! Better yet, don't committ any criminal acts period, if you do that you will stay out of jail.

Jail is supposed to SUCK!

It comes down to karma. Arpaio is an ugly man whose days of fame are over. Arizona is reaping what it sowed and some big changes are coming. Brewer has proven to be a nitwit and Arpaio's tyranny is coming to an end. Good riddance to both of them.

"Days are over"? Really.

Well, if that is the case, they why are his approval ratings going UP - not down like you would expect for someone who's "days are over". LOL

My question is what took so long?

This sick piece of scum has been sued so many times by so many people and had nothing come of it, you'd think he was made of Teflon. Here's hoping this is the end for pervert Joe.

Lynching people used to be popular in some quarters too. You can see post cards celebrating them if you do a little research. Nevertheless, those days are over and so are the days of glory for this utterly evil man.

If Sheriff Joe has cooperated fully with the feds, it makes one wonder how the feds will spin this one!
