Fortunately, most of us aren't so easily fooled.... Can you say the same...?
So in other words, you don't know what the difference is either.

Because it's back in the news and democrats are attaching all kinds of changes and qualifiers to alter it. Then they'll pronounce it as a 'new' bill, and accuse Republicans of being against it.

Old Wiener can throw another hissy fit on the floor and make the minority party out to be anti business, anti labor, anti this, anti that. And claim 'they won't even back a bill they originated'!

He's very good at drama. Not much else though.

It's a bait and switch.

Payroll Tax Holiday a Poor Stimulus Idea — Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
The devil is always in the details.

Did you trade in a junker a month too soon, last year? You missed out on the stimulus lottery.

Did you own your prior house for 59 months before you traded to a different house? You lost the stimulus lottery, too.

Did you hire a new employee in January this year? Another loser in the stimulus lottery.

Virtually every effort on the part of Washington to "help" us is a way to spray money around (almost at random) to bribe people into doing what they were going to do anyway. It is inherently unfair. When Washington talks about "targeted" spending, they are choosing winners and losers in an arbitrary way.

Stop the madness. Vote for the party of "NO more nonsense." And do everything you can to prevent Republicans from doing these same stupid things.

So what are the "changes and qualifiers to alter it" that the Democrats are attaching? I am guessing none of you even know.

Good question! Here is a more recent link dated 9/4/2010.

Quote:
One idea that has received some support from Republicans is a three-month payroll tax holiday for all workers and businesses.

That would amount to a 6.2% tax cut for each, freeing up money that employers could use for new hiring and workers could use to boost consumer spending.

But White House aides indicated that Obama will not embrace the idea. It would cost the government about $120 billion in revenue if adopted for two months — and a staggering $700 billion if continued for a full year.

When they finish it and ram it through, we'll get to read it.

Here is some discussion of it:

My previous post which cites a link much more recent states that Obama considered the payroll tax holiday and has dismissed it as an option.

There is nothing to the vague accusations attempted in this thread!

Why on earth do they think suspending payroll taxes for a mere 3 months will spur hiring ?
Just what the heck are they drinking in DC these days ?
