Where are the "facts". He stated "I think" an awful lot. Are you really trying to compare Reagans small "tax increases" to Obama raising taxes $650BILLION?
1) Reagan never condoned amnesty as a benefit to be extended continually, but a one-time effort followed by a rule-of-law crackdown (compare to Obama's revulsion for rule-of-law and protection of our borders).
2)Reagan was the first president to confront terrorists (compare to Carter), and could never be found bowing down to them
3)Reagan raised taxes to slightly draw down a deficit caused by a large military buildup designed to bring an end to the Cold War, and it worked. BTW, protection of our country and our borders are two of the few mandated, legitimate functions of our federal government (compare to Obama).
4)Reagan used high marginal tax rates that were used for the times (see #3) and were never a part of his broader philosophy of economics (supply-side) and wealth production. Obama and Carter believe wealth is a narrowly fixed resource that requires redistribution (instead of fostering multiplication).
5)Reagan withdrew Marines from land bases in Lebanon to ships offshore, and began authorizing airstrikes against Syrian-controlled positions within Lebanon (again, compare to Carter and Iran).
Yes, indeed, facts are stubborn things; Dylan Ratigan needs to learn a few.
