(I can't help but to remember the movie "When Mars Attacks", the martains are killing everyone, the whole time saying "We come in peace!".)

Just another way this administration vilifies someone who goes against their stupid ideas. (Bad GOP for not liking Lord Obama's ideas, we shall punish you along with 70% of the nation!)

Go ahead, say it Obama folks.

He also reminds me of the show "V" where she says they come in peace and tells the reporter to not show them in a negetive light. She doesn't want to truth to come out. That they have to be shown as great, sweet, caring, peaceful people. That is this current administration!

And there-in is part of the problem. Obama didn't have any role models that were "reasonable" adults. He had 2 Communist non-American fathers who abandoned him, a mother that dumped him with grandparents while she lived life as a professional student activist and welfare-queen, and far leftist grandparents who left a young Obama to the mentorship of Communists the likes of Frank Marshall Davis.

Obama never learned any lessons outside of Marxism/Communism and distain for his country. His books speaks of "Dreams of My Father"; those dreams were Communism. What did folks expect exactly, some apple that fell far, far away from the rancid tree?

No? Are you trying to deny that the listed things that Republicans were spewing weren't lies?

And quit pretending President Obama and Congress refused to listen to Republicans or include any of their amendments or ideas. It's an absurd allegation that is provably false.
Republican Ideas Included in the President's Proposal

It’s clear that the American people want health insurance reform. They aren’t interested in Democratic ideas or Republican ideas. They’re interested in the best ideas to reduce costs, guarantee choices and ensure the highest quality care.

They’re interested in ideas that will put them back in control of their own health care.

Throughout the debate on health insurance reform, Republican concepts and proposals have been included in legislation. In fact, hundreds of Republican amendments were adopted during the committee mark-up process. As a result, both the Senate and the House passed key Republican proposals that are incorporated into the President’s Proposal.

Review a few of the Republican initiatives included in legislation passed by Congress:

  • Includes personal responsibility incentives: Allows health insurance premium to vary based on participation in proven employer wellness programs
    • (Sources: H.R. 3468, “Promoting Health and Preventing Chronic Disease through Prevention and Wellness Programs for Employees, Communities, and Individuals Act†(Castle bill); H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act†(Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act†(Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act†(Kirk bill), "Coverage, Prevention and Reform Act")
  • Advances medical liability reform through grants to States: Provides grants to States to jump-start and evaluate promising medical liability reform ideas to put patient safety first, prevent medical errors, and reduce liability premiums.
    • (Sources: S. 1783, “Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act†(Enzi bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act†(Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 4529, “Roadmap for America’s Future Act†(Ryan bill); S. 1099, “Patients’ Choice Act†(Burr-Coburn, Ryan-Nunes bill))
  • Extends dependent coverage to age 26: Gives young adults new options.
    • (Sources: H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act†(Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act†(Kirk bill))
  • Allows automatic enrollment by employers in health insurance: Allows employee to opt-out.
    • (Sources: House Republican Substitute; H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act†(Republican Study Committee bill); “Coverage, Prevention, and Reform Act†)
  • Mechanisms to improve quality.
    • (Sources: H.R. 4529, “Roadmap for America’s Future Act;†S. 1099, “Patients’ Choice Act;†H.R. 3400, Republican Study Group bill; S. 1783, “Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act†(Enzi bill))
  • Community Mental Health Centers. The President’s Proposal ensures that individuals have access to comprehensive mental health services in the community setting, but strengthens standards for facilities that seek reimbursement as community mental health centers by ensuring these facilities are providing appropriate care and not taking advantage of Medicare patients or the taxpayers.

So you just go to a White House link rather than reading the actual pdf on the proposals? LOL

How about a good look at those propositions NOT incorporated that would have made significant inroads to lowering costs, the ones that would have forced competition rather than monopolies for insurance companies, the ones that would have allowed physicians to perform preventive rather than defensive medicine?

They were not included because Obama had to payback the insurance companies and trial attorneys!

Yes, I concede, Republicans had an awful lot to say. All of it lies, of course, but what the hell, at least they were saying something.

So it is OK when the government rations your health care but when those evil money grubbing corporations do it, it is WRONG!!! True liberal thinking at its finest.

And since the Massachusetts model is working so well, we should probably base our entire health care system on that so we can ensure that we raise premiums, lower the cost of health care and FORCE people to purchase health insurance, all while exempting the high and mighty liberal elite politicians or whomever was able to cut a back room deal with the First Moron In Chief.

The bottom line is that we have incredibly good health care in this country and we are paying for it as the government and the insurance companies are dictating costs to us and driving up the prices of these costs. The problem with this country is not that it is under-insured, we are overinsured and we rely too much on insurance (risk based products).

Not me..
