Dude Bernie Epton almost beat Harold Washington. In the right scenario a Republican can win. Besides in the mayoral election one does not have to list their party any longer.

So the last time in 71 years a Republican candidate almost won the mayoral candidates, a black candidate ran as Democrat. Do you remember all the white, union, bleeding blue Democrats from Mount Greenwood/Bridgeport that absolutely refused to vote for Washington due to his race? I sure do. And I was a kid.

Why play second fiddle when you can lead an orchestra. I have no doubt that Rham will let his ego lead him back to Chi town

So? My statement was merely to point out it is possible.

Chicago = Moscow on Lake Michigan. May it fall into the great lake sooner rather than later and free the rest of Illinois from its diseased grip.

Coming from someone living in Houston, I have to laugh. You haven't been paying attention to Illinois politics in the past year or so. People don't like Rahm. There is major political upheaval going on in Illinois right now, especially with all the corruption charges surrounding Blagojevich, Stroger, Rezko, and on and on. People here are finally starting to get fed up with the BS the democrats have been feeding us and want change. Quinn is not expected to win the governor's seat, he'll likely lose to *gasp* republican Bill Brady. Mark Kirk also has a really good shot at the senate seat. Big time national Republican players are paying attention to Illinois now as a toss-up state and are visiting IL.... never would have happened even just a year ago. Things are changing here, and hopefully for the better.

Rahm won't win, I guarantee it. He'll have name recognition, but that won't be a benefit to him.

I have to agree. But let us see what kind of reaction he gets on his "neighborhood tour."

Since Obama has been a total and massive failure they are all jumping ship before it goes down.

I thought all of these people were experts, genius people who were the most talented people he could get together.

What happened?

Next we will see Obama tell us that all his massive mistakes were because he hired all the wrong advisers.

Ask him to take dung boy back to Chicago with him, they have done enough damage to our country.

No, not Chicago. Hawaii or somewhere else. He is not a real Chicagoan. Carpetbagger. Rahm is not even from Chicago-he was raised in a rich suburb.

We could only be so lucky to ship him off to Hawaii. Just think, in two years Obammy will be coming back here too.

Let's hope the IL GOP puts up a strong candidate this time, not another Alan Keyes who didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning.
