Black is just to much a generic term to really have scientific meaning anymore...there's just to many variables between lifestyles, and class today, to lump all people with 1% or more of African decent as 'black'...

At best, you can only compare people by region...living in simular conditions...

For instance...you can't take stats gathered from Michael Jordan, and stats from a Haitian refugee, and average it out....

Michael Jordan has more in common with Bill Gates than he does a Haitian boat refugee...

All I'm saying is in todays world, color isn't the most profecient way to lump people together...

There are other variable that determine why people are the way they are that go way beyond color...Kapeesh??
i totally agree that there is a lot of diversity within the term 'black' and a lot of the stats that have to do with african americans has a lot to do with class. but if anything this should bring our attention to the overlap between class and race. i don't see how that is covert racism. if anything i think it's an attempt to eliminate covert racism by bringing our attention to the factors that cause it or help perpetuate it.

I kinda hear what your saying...I've recently been forced to listen to hours upon hours of NPR talk, cause that's the only channel my vehicle would pick up...(nightmare)

Your right, I do like their indepth coverage of certain stories, rather than 4 sec sound bites you get on your morning news, weather, and traffic rapid fire AM shows...

I just got tired of them alway portraying 'blacks' as being 'flawed' in every way shape and form....and always 'victims'...I got up and sick of that...

I mean according to NPR...I should be broke, have unemployed, in jail, uneducated, have every disease known to man, I should also have a criminal record, been shot at least once, harraced by police on a daily basis...on and on and on...

I'm like, how come none of that stuff applies to me??

Cause I'm an induvisual, that's why...I'm my own stat...just like you are and everyone else...

In my line of work...when I go to factories or warehouses, I see young fit, able responsible black males working, employed, and doing their jobs well...why?
Cause they made smart decisions in life...

So to me, this is what defines America...

People who want to do well, can...
In other words, anyone, whether black or white or indian or mix, who wants to succeed, can...

They should all be included in one catigory...

But those who choose to break the law and live irresponsible lives, will struggle, whether African American or Irish or Italian...

When you take survies or stats, you can't lump a responsible A-American in with a Bloods gang member...

Poll or stat takers are flawed in how they take stats...because they don't make distingtions between induvisuals...

Those at NPR or just to obscessed with lumping people together by color, instead of virtue....

NPR is obscessed with color...

They need to get over that...

They just can't seem to cover the damages that unions cause American industry, either.

If I can offer any advice that is helpful in changing your perspective and the worldview of your friends and family........

Emphasize the power of personal choice, and that liberal offerings are merely "victimization" schemes.

Emphasize that blacks are self-empowered and have all the intelligence and initiative that they need to succeed. Forget Affirmative Action and other paternalistic programs.

Almost every initiative offered by a liberal is nothing more than an insult to your intelligence and the solidity of your own character. You really don't need liberals' help.

Well, I read about 1/2 of the OP, and said, "whitenoise". I stopped reading at that point, and simply shook my head. How can someone who hates NPR that much listen to it enough to discern the information posted? Errr, should I say misinformation or misinterpretation.

not true. only in part and by some local, not federal, governments.

Well you should of read the other half, where I explained how the vehicle I drive for work, only gets NPR in the remote areas I find myself in...

I was prompted to start this thread cause on one particuluar day, it was like over kill on the 'all blacks are doomed' theme...

It was like 'black women will suffer this, black men will die from that, a dog that is black will get ran over quicker than a dog that is white...ect ect...

I mean it just got ridiculious...and all this went unchallenged...NPR never has anyone to challenge this stuff....

So I started this thread to relieve a little steam...

And they all talk like their from Oxford England or something...and then you find out their from Idaho or Mississippi or Texas...

Yes, some of their programming can be good, stuff dealing with wildlife or film or music biographies ect ect...

But their social science view of the world, I have issues with...

First off all their stats are very inconcise....

The term 'black'...what is that? I mean in this day and age...what does that mean?

The only way you can study a 'group' is if everyone with such a classification is living under similuar circumstances and conditions.

This is basic science...

And NPR knows this...so what is their true intent for releasing negitave black stats on a daily basis?

In other words, if I myself, set out to do research on cancer rates in America, or diabetes...when I got done, I would not lump my findings and break them down in what color people were...

And then release a statement...'Our studies found black women or 10 times more likely to get this or that...than 'perfect' white women are (subliminal message)(npr style)...

Rather I would break it down in terms of lifestyle...diet, income level, education ect ect...

In other words the emphasis would be on what are people who get cancer or heart disease, doing to put themselves at higher risk...

Again, with my study, the emphasis would be lifestyle or dietary habits, rather than just contrasting white vs black comparisons..

(for unless those whites and blacks are living identical lifestyles, the comparisons are meaningless...duh...)

NPRs staff seems 'obscessed'...with the need to demonstrate that 'blacks' are flawed in every way shape and form next to and compared to the average 'white' person...

It's almost like a proganda machine...
Like a machine that's designed to replicate or produce a product over and over again...NPR does the same with their message of 'blacks' being genetically inferior to whites on every single level of life...

While following it up with hours of Violin music and upscale sociatol chatter?
What kind of mentality is this? And where did it origonate?

And why is NPR so bias against Jews or Isreal?
Whenever they cover a story of the middle east...they go out of their way to demonize Isreal...

Anyone ever viewed the movie 'Schwindles list'???

What kind of music were those Nazis always listening to in the background?? As they carried out their detestable tasks....

Schwindles list...NPR...Propaganda....anti-Isreali...the Furors need to always demonstrate Aryon superiority, including the 1932 Olympics...hmm

NPR...You can fool a lot of people...but you can't fool me....
