"You may think a person has the right to defend their home. But the law says you can only use physical force to deter physical force. Grier said he never saw anyone pull out a gun, so a court would have to decide on firing the gun."

Twenty gang member trespassers shouting they are going to kill him and his babies against one man is detering physical force by the trespassers. A jury of his peers supporting his right to defend his family will send a message to the gang members. He'll have to move anyway as these bad actors will still go for revenge. Sad day when MS-13 gang members number 2000 in a single county. Of course, there is no mention that the gang members wre arrested for criminal trespass......guess they are immune?

Someone arrested for firing a machine gun in public, who would have ever thought? What is this world coming to when you can't own and fire a machine gun on your own block!!! A gun that was obtained illegally mind you.

Two things:
The AK-47, like most others here, are semi-automatic only.
Where did it say the gun was obtained illegally? I have a ton of these bad boys, all obtained legally.

Care to continue?

I'm sure some research will show that many of those on here supporting the shooter can be found in the "immigration" boards using the simple argument that ILLEGAL is all that's needed to be known. Sorry about the syntax.

the threat was real, the response restrained and appropriate unfortunately our justice system does not see it that way. my country has made a turn for the worse.

It's a bit much that you have to wait till you could be dead before you can even fire a warning shot.

Please stop drinking the gun-banners Kool-Aid! An AK-47 is NOT a machine gun. Obviously you wouldn't know the difference between a machine gun and a semi-auto if both were placed in front of you.

Where does the article state that the rifle was obtained illegally, where? link?

Not to be utterly unkind... however if you had cared to read the story, you would have found that the gentleman in question legally owned the gun and was not charged with anything related to the owing of the firearm.

you are factually incorrect.

The gun had to be Simi-Automatic or it would have been illegal. and the article clearly states that the gun was legally purchased and was legally owned.

Your bias is showing.
