Castro finally admits Cuban Model Doesn't Work

So why is US trying it?

In cuba, the state controls well over 90 percent of the economy,
paying workers salaries of about $20 a month in return for free
health care and education, and nearly free transportation and
housing.

In the US, gov spending has gone from 32% of the economy to nearly 44% (and rising dramatically) Obama has already gone through massive health care reform (to channel as much as that through the gov) After the high speed rail proposal we will be the next Cuba.

Obama's theme to every speech is that the government should be the middle man to everything and business/private sector is very, very bad and can't be trusted

Well the model has not been implemented yet and there is nothing Cuban about it it is still very Capitalistic but more equitible.

Equitable to whom? The government?

Bullfeathers, Communism has and always will serve solely the ruling elite.

link to Castro interview from 1997: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/...ent-cuba/5931/

And most recent: http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2010/09/09/general-cb-cuba-fidel-castro_7913486.html?boxes=Homepagebusinessnews (broken link)

Time and time again Communism is proven a failed experiment at the cost of millions of lives.

WE need changes but I don't see what Obama is doing as the way to go. A senteralized power structure lends it's self to manipulation and coruption. The more power is distributed the better it is for everyone. At least in the ecconomic cence.

The problem with liberals is they don't understand the unintended consquences of their actions (even though they often mean well)

Liberals have alreday destroyed our economy.

In order to “make housing more affordable” liberals turn Freddie & fannie into giants. Providing low mortgage rates for everyone at the same time as artificially high home prices which eventually caused all of these problems with our economy.
