I lost 84 coworkers, plus other people died who I knew from my daily life, such as the security guard at the door where I came in every day and the workers at Cantor Fitz's cafeteria on 101 (anyone could use it--I sometimes have dreams that I am standing in that cafeteria and then I remember that a plane is coming and I have to get out of there.)

Even after all these years, I still see a photo here and there of someone who died and I recognize the face, even though I didn't know them--I must have seen them in the elevator or outside on the Plaza.

I didn't know anyone. But that day was the end of the life I had.

We have a different way of looking at the world than you do. We see a separation of church and state. Islam tends not to. We see the acts of someone not in terms of their religion unless they make their actions now to be from a religious motivation. Islam tends not to see this distinction. Oil and water. We should never have gone into Iraq because the stated objective for doing so were unobtainable. In order to achieve "our" stated objectives we would have to take over the schools, put in a western stile curriculum, teach the students how to live in a western stile democracy, and then weight 50 years for them to get old enough to run the country. In short we would have to impose our world view on an Islamic nation in order to achieve our stated goals. What they call this is Jihad.
