Democrats challenge Nancy Pelosi on taxes - Jonathan Allen - POLITICO.com

Quote:
POLITICO has obtained a draft of a letter from rank-and-file lawmakers to Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer urging them not to let tax rates rise for Americans at the highest income levels.

"We believe in times of economic recovery it makes good sense to maintain things as they are in the short term, to provide families and businesses the certainty required to plan and make sound budget decisions," the House members write in a letter that was being circulated for signatures on Friday and is expected to be delivered today or Tuesday.
They are in a pickle, aren't they?

What they don't understand is that pelosi/reid/obama used these members to get their perceived victory on HC and Cap&Tax.

Perceived because the repeal meme is gaining steam in the states.

More House dems are coming forward;

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - More Democrats break with Obama on tax cuts « - Blogs from CNN.com

Quote:
Thirty-one House Democrats, most of whom face tough re-election bids this fall, have signed a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer urging them to extend expiring tax breaks for all income levels, including the wealthy.

"We believe in times of economic recovery it makes good sense to maintain things as they are in the short term, to provide families and businesses the certainty required to plan and make sound budget decisions. Providing this certainty will give small businesses, the backbone of our economic recovery, confidence and stability," the lawmakers wrote.
Well, they are right, but it won't do them a bit of good. See, the democrat leadership think they have stumbled upon a wedge issue for the election, based on a poll that showed a slim majority of Americans don't mind if tax cuts for the "rich" are left to expire.

They will now engage in their usual partisan, identity politics, pitting the poor against the rich, another divisive, desperate attempt to sway voters.

That is just too too much...from your link

"the extension of the Obama middle-income tax cuts."

So they are now the Obama tax cuts ? ROFL
Further in the article Pelosi's spokesman said they are "rebranding" the Bush cuts to the Obama cuts !!
Obama has yet to cut one single penny. And before the Dems jump in..a "credit" is NOT the same as a "cut".

More are coming out against pelosi/obama, a repudiation of his really bad idea of raising taxes while in a severe recession.

I have NO doubt he will try to spin like he was for it all along.

Nancy Pelosi keeps losing Democrats on tax cuts - Jonathan Allen - POLITICO.com

Quote:
If the House works its will, the top income tax brackets will enjoy at least one more year of the Bush tax cuts — a development that would be a sharp rebuke of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and President Barack Obama.

At least 38 House Democrats have now come out publicly in favor of at least a short-term extension of current income tax rates for couples earning more than $250,000 and individuals over the $200,000 threshhold — bucking calls from Obama and Pelosi to let taxes increase on wealthier Americans.

Good to see this.

It's amazing that Bambi's entire presidency is simply about income redistibution and class warfare. Bambi's goal is not to govern for the good of all, but simply to stir the pot and create hate / class warfare.

Because..."divided we fall".

We are not "Americans" anymore..we are White Americans or Black Americans or Hispanic Americans..that's constantly shoved in our faces.

Now there are Wealthy Americans who hate the Middle Class Americans and the Poor Americans who have nothing.

And you have the Republican Americans who are bad and the Democratic Americans who are good.

It's all there in black and white..everyday in your face.
Propaganda to keep us at each others throats. Too many are drinking that koolaid.

They are no pickle whatsoever.

Public opinion backs Pelosi http://heraldnet.com/article/20100916/NEWS02/709169838 and this group you mention is about 20 House members and 4 Senators.

It will pass and yet another of your predictions will go down to failure.
